Poltava Polytechnic college

The Poltava Polytechnic College was founded in 1944 as a Technical School for Civil Construction. In 1956 this technical school was renamed as the Poltava Technical School for Construction. Starting from 1962 it was Poltava Electroengineering Technical School, which was reorganized into Poltava Polytechnic College in 1991.By the Resolution of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No970 of 23.12.2004 this college was assigned to NTU “KhPI” as a detached institution of education.

This college has 29 auditoriums, 18 laboratories, 4 computer classrooms, cabinets for the yearly projects and degree thesis, workshops for practical work, assembly hall with 400 seats, a sporting center, health station and a library with reading hall (the book stock exceeds 64 thousand textbooks). The training is given by a competent pedagogical staff; 80% of teachers were awarded the top or the first rank. This college is proud of the Honored Teacher of Ukraine who shares the gained knowledge with collaborators and students. A young generation of pedagogues introduces new methods of giving knowledge to the students.

Developing the software, mounting and operating the electrical equipment at the factories and works and civil structures, producing electric lighting fixtures and units, economics of the companies, technology of processing the materials using the machine tools and automatic lines.

Practical work

The students of the college do practical work at the college workshops and at the production sites of the industrial companies in the city of Poltava, in particular at Poltava GRL works, Poltavaoblenergo, JSC “Turbomechanical works”, JSC “Misksvitlo”, JSC “PZMS”, JSC“ AutoAggregate Works” , JSC “Poltava locomotive repairing works”, JSC “Electromotor” and others.

Places for employment

The graduates of the college may work as technological technicians, foremen, masters of production sites, work superintendents, chiefs of the mounting and producing section, technicians for adjusting and testing the electric equipment, supervising masters, shop power men, section power men, planning technicians, electricians, heads of the laboratory, electric network managers, mechanics, norm setters, designers, programmers; these graduates may hold the positions of junior specialists. Many graduates continue their studies at the higher institutions of education of the III-IV levels of accreditation taking the shortened course of studies.
