Members of the Sports Club «Senat» of the NTU «KhPI» Student Palace won gold and silver medals at the World Acrobatic Rock ‘n’ Roll Championship, which took place on 21 June in Budapest, Hungary. Dancers from Kharkiv Polytechnic: Timur Khaersky, Daria Shevtsova, Alexander Lyashenko, Adelaide Kushka, Vera Litvinenko, and Maxim Shpenkov, as part of the RS Team (Ukraine, Kharkiv), won the gold medal at the World Championship in the junior formation category. In the World Cup stage competition, the pair of NTU «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute»’s sportsmen, Oleksandr Lyashenko and Adelaide Kushka, won the silver medal. A total of 914 sportsmen from 12 countries took part in the international acrobatic rock ‘n’ roll competition.
The national Ukrainian acrobatic Rock ‘n’ Roll team competed for awards in three tournaments in Budapest, Hungary: the World Championships (juniors, formation), the European Championships (adults, contact style, women’s formation; juniors, girls’ formation), and the World Cup stage (adults, juniors). A total of 914 athletes from 12 countries took part in the competitions, including 66 Ukrainians.
According to the results of the World Acrobatic Rock ‘n’ Roll Championship, the RS Team, whose members represented the Sports Club «Senat» of the NTU «KhPI» Student Palace and the Sports Club «Rapid» (Kharkiv), won the gold medal in the junior formation category with their composition Cry Baby. Among the dancers-champions from Kharkiv Polytechnic are Timur Khaersky, Daria Shevtsova, Alexander Lyashenko, Adelaide Kushka, Vera Litvinenko, and Maxim Shpenkov. Kharkiv Polytechnic students also showed high results in the pairs competition of the World Cup stage (juniors), where sportsmen Oleksandr Lyashenko and Adelaide Kushka won silver. The sportsmen from NTU «KhPI» also won fifth place in the World Cup among juniors, with Timur Khaersky and Daria Shevtsova standing out. The champions of the Sports Club «Senat» of the NTU KhPI Student Palace are trained by Natalia Proskurina, Honored Coach of Ukraine and Master of Sports of Ukraine of international class, and Sergey Lyashenko, Master of Sports of Ukraine of international class.

The «Senat» acrobatic rock and roll club has been operating for over 20 years at the NTU KhPI «Senate» Student Palace and has managed to launch many bright sports stars.
