The National Technical University «KhPI» has received modern industrial equipment for the creation of multifunctional stands that will simulate the operation of technological process automation systems. The equipment was donated to Kharkiv Polytechnic by Schneider Electric Ukraine, a global leader in energy technology. The new complexes will be useful for students majoring in «Automation, Computer-Integrated Technologies, and Robotics», who will be able to practice their skills in developing and testing control systems in conditions that are as close as possible to real production. The equipment was obtained as a result of an effective partnership between the Department of Automation of Technological Systems and Environmental Monitoring of the NTU «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» and Schneider Electric.
The equipment donated by Schneider Electric includes latest-generation programmable logic controllers, operator panels, relays, indicators, and other modern automation devices. In addition, teachers and students at NTU «KhPI» were provided with an academic version of the SEE Electrical Expert software package from IGE+XAO. The program provides three years of free access to professional software for the design and automation of electrical systems, and the local area network (LAN) version allows up to 25 users to work simultaneously.
According to staff at the Department of Automation of Technological Systems and Environmental Monitoring at NTU «KhPI», combining Schneider Electric equipment with SEE Electrical Expert software enables students to apply modern concepts of automation and electrical engineering in practice, improves their training, and promotes the introduction of innovative engineering solutions into the educational process. It should be noted that the software will be useful not only for students majoring in automation, but also for representatives of other technical specialties, in particular electrical engineering and energy. This opens up prospects for expanding cooperation between various departments and specialties at NTU «KhPI», promoting the integration of modern automation technologies into the university’s educational programs.
Cooperation with «Schneider Electric Ukraine» is an example of effective interaction between education and business, which helps to develop the skills required by the modern labor market.
