NTU «KhPI» became the only Ukrainian university to participate in Egypt’s largest educational exhibition, EDU Gate. The event was attended by more than 5,000 applicants, with over fifty universities from around the world exhibiting. KPI was represented at the event by Issam Shahin, Assistant Rector for Student Affairs from the Middle East and Africa, Candidate of Technical Sciences. The Ukrainian stand, which attracted keen interest among visitors, was prepared with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine, Mykola Nahorny. The purpose of participating in the event was to attract applicants from Egypt to study at Ukrainian universities, in particular at Kharkiv Polytechnic.
The second stage of Egypt’s largest educational exhibition, EDU Gate, took place in Alexandria (Egypt). This year, Ukraine returned to participate in this event for the first time since the start of the full-scale war.
The National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» was the only Ukrainian
higher education institution to join the exhibition. Kharkiv Polytech was represented by Issam Shahin, Assistant Rector for Work with Students from the Middle East and Africa, Candidate of Technical Sciences. With the assistance of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Arab Republic of Egypt Mykola Nahornyi and the Embassy of Ukraine, a stand of Kharkiv Polytech was demonstrated at the event.
The design of the stand included the national flags of Ukraine and Egypt, and the presentation materials of the university were prepared in Ukrainian, English and Arabic. The stand attracted keen interest among visitors. Guests noted that despite the ongoing aggression, NTU «KhPI», located in the frontline Kharkiv city, demonstrates an unwavering readiness to continue accepting international students, offering both distance learning programs and full-time education.
During their talks with the exhibition organizers, the Embassy representatives discussed the prospects for expanding Ukraine’s participation in EDU Gate next year, in particular increasing the representation of Ukrainian universities and demonstrating new educational solutions and formats for cooperation. According to the exhibition organizers, the participation of NTU «KhPI» in EDU Gate opens the «green light» for a new intake of applicants from Egypt. On the website of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the occasion of participation in the educational exhibition, it was noted that Ukrainian education remains our reliable tool for development and sustainability. By investing in its quality and opening up more opportunities for Ukrainian and foreign students, NTU «KhPI» strengthens its position and confidently moves forward despite all challenges.
It should be noted that for many years, NTU «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» has been actively promoting academic dialogue between Ukraine and the Arab Republic of Egypt.

EDU Gate is Egypt’s leading international education exhibition and one of the largest in the Middle East and North Africa region, bringing together leading universities and educational institutions from around the world.
