The National Technical University «KhPI» held an online meeting with the leadership of the Chinese university Hebei International Studies University (HISU), attended by Vice Rector Gennadiy Khrypunov and Director of the Institute of International Education Dmytro Gorovyi. The parties discussed the development of Ukrainian-language studies and the involvement of NTU «KhPI» faculty in teaching specialized disciplines in Ukrainian at HISU. In addition, they explored prospects for joint research and dual-degree programs.
Foreign universities are increasingly reaching out to NTU «KhPI» in search of new forms of cooperation. This time, the initiative came from Hebei International Studies University (HISU, China), which specializes in training foreign language specialists while also developing interdisciplinary programs that combine language education with engineering, economics, and the natural sciences.
On 20 March, 2026, an online meeting was held with the participation of Gennadiy Khrypunov, Vice Rector of the NTU «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute»; Dmytro Gorovyi, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Education; and Chen Wei, Vice Rector for International Affairs at HISU. During the meeting, they discussed the development of Ukrainian-language studies and the involvement of Ukrainian faculty in training students in engineering, management, and natural sciences, using Ukrainian as the language of instruction at HISU. The Chinese partners also expressed interest in joint research and inviting Ukrainian faculty to the university as visiting lecturers.
For its part, NTU «KhPI» offered bachelor’s dual-degree programs, admission opportunities for Chinese applicants, and master’s degree programs for HISU graduates.
On behalf of the rector, Vice Rector of NTU «KhPI» Gennadiy Khrypunov welcomed his Chinese colleagues and noted that the systematic expansion of international contacts ensures sustained interest from partners in the university, and KhPI’s presence in global rankings, particularly the QS World University Rankings and the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, enhances its appeal for collaboration.
The parties agreed to continue negotiations and develop specific educational programs.

Hebei International Studies University is a specialized foreign language university located in Shijiazhuang (Hebei Province, China). Founded in 1998, the university has evolved from a college into a full-fledged institution, and has been authorized to confer academic degrees since 2012.
