Kharkiv Polytechnic once again won the honorary title of «Leader of Innovation in Education,» a gold medal, and a number of diplomas at the 17th International Exhibition «Innovation in Modern Education». The university was awarded this honorary distinction for its work researching the quality of higher education as an object of public administration. The work was carried out by employees of the Department of Quality Assurance in Education and the Department of Sociology and Public Administration at NTU «KhPI». The gold medal was awarded for methodological recommendations on the synergy of STEAM education and the university’s innovative ecosystem of sustainable development. A total of 232 works were submitted to the competition, which were evaluated by experts from the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine and the Institute for the Modernization of Educational Content. The exhibition, which took place online, brought together 236 organizations from 21 regions of Ukraine and five countries: Poland, Lithuania, Romania, Hungary, and Estonia.
Participants of the 17th International Exhibition «Innovation in Modern Education» discussed priority areas for the development of education and science in the context of modern challenges. They paid considerable attention to issues such as developing the innovative potential of teaching staff, creating a safe educational environment, and the digital transformation of processes and services. As a result of the event, scientists from the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» received a number of awards, diplomas, and certificates. Thus, the honorary title «Leader of Innovation in Education» was awarded for the work «The Quality of Higher Education as an Object of Public Management: Justification and Features of Actualization.» It was prepared by employees of the Department of Quality Assurance in Education and the Department of Sociology and Public Administration. NTU «KhPI» also received a gold medal for methodological recommendations on the synergy of STEAM education and the university innovation ecosystem. The research was conducted in the context of harmonizing the university’s activities with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular, «SDG 4 – Quality Education» and «SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure».

A total of 58 conferences, presentations, seminars, round tables, and master classes were held online. The scientific and practical seminar «Science and Innovation at NTU «KhPI»: From Research to Implementation,» dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Kharkiv Polytechnic, attracted great interest from the participants. Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Professor Andrii Marchenko presented the strategic directions of the university’s scientific activity. The event was moderated by Ruslan Kryvobok, Head of the Research Department. Leading scientists from the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» presented modern developments in the fields of electronics, mechanical engineering, energy, materials science, and defense technologies. Professor of the Department of Micro- and Nanoelectronics Nataliia Klochko spoke about achievements in the field of electronics, and Head of the Department of Ceramic Technology, Refractories, Glass and Enamels Olena Fedorenko spoke about the latest ceramic and composite materials. Their scientific developments were also presented by: Professor Mykola Sakhnenko, Head of the Department of Physical Chemistry; Professor Borys Lyubarskyi, Head of the Department of Electric Transport and Locomotive Engineering; Professor Yurii Mikhlin, Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics; Professor Mykola Tkachuk, Head of the Department of Theory and Computer-Aided Design of Mechanisms and Machines; and Associate Professor Ihor Khomenko, Head of the Department of Electric Power Transmission. The speakers paid considerable attention to the topic of restoring military equipment. They considered aspects of introducing digital technologies into the training of specialists through professional games and simulators. The seminar was attended by applicants, students, and scientists from various regions of Ukraine.
Scientists from NTU «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» held a round table discussion entitled «The Development of Social and Humanitarian Education at NTU «KhPI»: Towards the University’s 140th Anniversary.» Professor Olena Tverytnikova, head of the Department of Ukrainian Studies, Cultural Studies, and History of Science, and Professor Nina Pidbutska, Head of I.A. Ziaziun Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Managing Social Systems, spoke about the unique experience of forming the university’s humanities and technical elite. The event was moderated by Olga Horodyska, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Philosophy. The central theme was a discussion of the role of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Social and Humanitarian Technologies as an intellectual center for the humanization of technical education. Particularly valuable were the presentations by graduate students and students of the institute, who shared their own success stories and talked about new educational trajectories at NTU «KhPI».
