The Department of Natural Sciences of the Faculty of International Education and the Scientific Department of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” (NTU “KhPI”) celebrated International Day of Science with the slogan “Science for Global Understanding: The future is already near us: scientific achievements from different countries all over the world “. Event took place on November 10, 2017.
International Day of Science was focused on the importance of students’ involvement in science and technologies development to ensure peace and to achieve the goals of World’s community sustainable development.
Scientists’ presentations, international students’ reports about scientific achievements in their native countries were introduced. International students have visited NTU “KhPI” scientific museum, where they have had possibility to learn about famous scientific researches developed at NTU “KhPI”. Unique scientific experiments based on the latest technologies such as simulation of a high-power electric discharge and demonstration of the way it can destroy buildings were shown to students in the High-voltage University hall.
Moreover, information about electric power equipment protecting from direct lightning strikes and alerting the personnel about threatened danger was given.
