National Technical University «KhPI» retained its position as the best technical university in Eastern Ukraine, taking the seventh place among the country’s higher education institutions. These are the results of the 17th academic ranking «Top-200 Ukraine 2023», compiled by the Center for International Projects «Euroeducation» in partnership with the IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence international expert group. The activity of Ukrainian universities was evaluated based on the use of six international and four national indicators.
NTU «KhPI» in the academic ranking «Top-200 Ukraine 2023» improved its results compared to last year by six indicators, received 6.98 points (last year — 7.18). Each of the universities was awarded points based on ten criteria: the higher the position, the lower the number of points. Thus, the best university received the lowest amount of points — 4.09; the university that took the last place — more than 80 points.
The leader of the ranking «Top-200 Ukraine 2023» became National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute».

When compiling the academic ranking «Top-200 Ukraine 2023», the trends in the development of higher education, which changed due to the war and the coronavirus epidemic, were taken into account. The activity of Ukrainian universities in 2023 was evaluated based on the use of 6 international and 4 national indicators. Among them, the largest weighting coefficients were chosen, such as: academic activity; scientific publishing and international activities; assessment of research achievements by comparing university websites; the number of citations of scientific works of scientists in specialized scientific publications; quality of presentation and popularity of the institution in the Internet space; achievements within the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The rating usually includes 200 universities, but in 2023, 202 higher education institutions were added to the ranking table
