Kharkiv Polytechnics: Vice-Rector Gennadiy Khrypunov and Head of the German Education Center Denys Meshkov took part in the opening ceremony of a large-scale international project – the UNINOVIS Alliance. The event was held at the Sorbonne University (Sorbonne Paris Nord France) and brought together representatives of 11 leading European higher education institutions. The ceremony was opened by the Minister of Education of France, and was also attended by members of the European Commission, representatives of the regions and departments of the republic. The event was an important step towards the creation of the European University of the Future 2030, which will join forces to develop innovative education, research and social integration. Last year, NTU «KhPI» became the only Ukrainian university to join the UNINOVIS Alliance.
The solemn opening ceremony of the «UNINOVIS Alliance» was held at the Sorbonne Paris Nord University in France. On behalf of the Rector of NTU «KhPI», Professor Yevgen Sokol, the delegation of Kharkiv Polytechnic included Vice-Rector for International Relations, Professor Gennadiy Khrypunov, and Head of the German Education Center, Associate Professor Denys Meshkov. The event brought together leading European universities from eleven countries: France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Lithuania, Finland, Albania, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, and Ukraine. The only representative from our country was the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute».
The large-scale event was opened by the Minister of Education of France, and was also attended by members of the European Commission, representatives of the Ile-de-France region and the Seine-Saint-Denis department. During the opening, the Alliance presented its long-term goals and strategic vision, including such key aspects as: effective management and coordination of partners’ activities; promotion of lifelong learning (an approach to education that implies the continuous acquisition of new skills and knowledge in a chosen field); support for green initiatives and digital transformation.
The participants of the event were very interested in the report of the Vice-Rector of NTU «KhPI», Professor Gennadiy Khrypunov. He spoke about the history and outstanding achievements of Kharkiv Polytechnic, the development of its international cooperation, including with the universities of the UNINOVIS Alliance: «For NTU «KhPI», participation in the consortium of leading European universities is an opportunity to present the achievements of our university at the highest level, to contribute to the construction of a common European educational and scientific space. Kharkiv Polytechnics is proud to be a part of this ambitious initiative aimed at solving global challenges through innovation and cooperation».
According to Vice Rector Gennadiy Khrypunov, NTU «KhPI» has always adhered to the principles of international partnership, and participation in the UNINOVIS Alliance confirms the high level of trust in the university from European colleagues. Teachers and researchers of NTU «KhPI» are ready to share their knowledge and experience, develop new approaches in science and education. The Vice-Rector noted the importance of UNINOVIS Alliance’s focus on digital transformation, support for green initiatives and the concept of lifelong learning, aspects that fully meet the strategic goals of NTU «KhPI». He expressed hope that soon Kharkiv Polytechnic will join the active implementation of the Alliance’s long-term goals. Thanks to NTU «KhPI», Ukraine has received a powerful voice in this project, which confirms its readiness to implement changes and work for a common future. The presentation of Vice-Rector Gennadiy Khrypunov was highly appreciated and sincerely supported by all participants of the event, who expressed full solidarity with the Ukrainian partners.

Our goal is to make Kharkiv Polytechnic a bridge between Eastern and Western Europe, where knowledge, culture, and innovation are combined into a single ecosystem,» said Associate Professor Denys Meshkov, Head of the German Education Center of NTU «KhPI». According to him, UNINOVIS is an excellent platform for cooperation, where Kharkiv Polytechnic will make a significant contribution to the development of digital transformation, data management and sustainable development. Thanks to the support of European partners, teachers and researchers of the Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute will be able to develop the skills of new generations that will be in demand in the global world.
According to the participants of the event, the launch of the international project UNINOVIS Alliance was an important step towards the creation of the European University of the Future, which will join forces to develop innovative education, research, and social integration. They expressed confidence that active, fruitful cooperation in the UNINOVIS Alliance will become an example for other universities around the world.
We would like to remind that in 2024, the National Technical University «KhPI» became the only Ukrainian university to join the large-scale international project «UNINOVIS Alliance».

The goal of the UNINOVIS Alliance is the creation and continuous improvement of a European university that will be fully operational by 2030, which involves the achievement of three main goals: To become a leading European university with the use, study and management of data in all academic fields in order to keep Europe at the forefront of digital processes and allow Europeans and the world to use intelligent tools and methods based on data, to create new knowledge through research and teaching that are related to and applied in response to European needs; build a beacon of higher education and research, promoting modern pedagogy and innovation to transfer knowledge to all communities around, with different educational spaces, interdisciplinary pathways and with the aim of sustainable development, employment, industrial and economic perspectives; to establish a trans-European centre for increased interaction between Allies and European society, to strengthen the capacity for innovation through diversity and multilingualism, to promote European values, identity and culture, and to make European universities a daily fact close to all.
The UNINOVIS Alliance project is based on three main long-term goals: to offer all Europeans cross-sectoral and transnational multilingual courses, innovative teaching methods, international activities and stays in the fields of science, culture, sports and leisure, in order to provide new generations with the skills most useful to the challenges of the globalized world and to strengthen academic, scientific and cultural cooperation in Europe for the benefit of all; Develop high-level research and training in data science that is studied and applied across all disciplines to equip Europe with the necessary knowledge and skills, especially but not only in the context of digital transformation; the use and technical as well as human ownership of data is becoming increasingly important and Europeans should have access to the best training in the field, which is the result of the best research; to create a dense and permanent European network between universities, scientific and cultural institutions, state institutions, industrial, economic, labor associations and all citizens through the dissemination of data, their processing with the help of new analytical tools, communication between participants; optimize education and research by combining scientific, technical and professional competencies with human, cultural and language competencies, creating new pedagogical tools so that everyone can use the university according to their needs.
