NTU «KhPI» presented modern formats of distance education to partners from China

An online meeting was held at NTU «KhPI» between Kharkiv Polytechnics and representatives of Chinese companies that attract Chinese citizens to study at NTU «KhPI». During the event, the university’s Vice-rector for International Relations, Gennadiy Khrypunov, spoke about the conditions for obtaining an education at Kharkiv Polytechnic and its formats, which combine synchronous classes and modern distance learning technologies. Today, more than 1,100 foreign students study at NTU «KhPI», making the university one of the leaders in Ukraine in this regard.

The meeting with Chinese colleagues, which was held for the first time via videoconference in the university’s small conference room, brought together the following representatives of NTU «KhPI»: Vice-Rector for International Relations Gennadiy Khrypunov, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Education (ESI IE) Dmytro Gorovyi, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Economics, Management and International Business Taras Danko, Deputy Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Social and Humanitarian Technologies for Work with Foreign Students Evgenia Vorobyova, Head of the Department of Information Systems Pavlo Pustovoitov, and Professor of the Department of Electrical Power Transmission Dmytro Danilchenko.

On behalf of the rector, Gennadiy Khrypunov greeted his Chinese colleagues and spoke about the development of international education at NTU «KhPI». He noted that foreign students of the university, in particular citizens of the People’s Republic of China, are officially enrolled in full-time bachelor’s and master’s programs. These programs are implemented in the format of synchronous online learning. According to the Vice-Rector of NTU «KhPI», the combination of synchronous classes and modern distance learning technologies ensures high-quality face-to-face education. It includes practical and laboratory classes using modular computer programs that simulate real physical, chemical, and technological processes with a high degree of reliability.

Gennadiy Khrypunov emphasized that in 2024, NTU «KhPI» successfully passed the international accreditation procedure by one of the most authoritative German companies – ZEvA. As a result, four full-time educational programs: «Software Engineering,» «Computer Science and Intelligent Systems,» «Organizational Management and Administration,» and «Business Administration» received international certification until 2030. «This year, we are continuing our cooperation on the recognition of our students’ diplomas in Germany. We want every Chinese student to have the opportunity to have their diploma recognized in Germany and automatically in all European Union countries. This will significantly increase their chances of successful employment not only in China but also in Europe. We have already signed an agreement with I.T.O.S., which will organize the training of German citizens of Chinese origin at our university. Thanks to the recognition of our diplomas in Germany and the distance learning format, the demand for these programs is very high,» said Gennadiy Khrypunov. He also emphasized that this year there are all the prerequisites for the successful recruitment of foreign students.

For his part, Director of ESI IE Dmytro Gorovyi said that NTU «KhPI» has established fruitful cooperation with the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE), which deals with the recognition of foreign diplomas in the PRC. At the end of last year, at the request of the CSCSE, Kharkiv Polytechnic prepared 25 sets of documents regulating the training of foreign students in English under relevant educational programs. Each set contained curricula, syllabi for all disciplines, methodological guidelines for thesis work, etc. In their speeches, Taras Danko, Evgenia Vorobyova, Pavlo Pustovoitov, and Dmytro Danilchenko briefly described the educational programs for foreign students. Pavlo Pustovoitov’s speech, which he delivered in Chinese, came as an unexpected surprise to the Chinese partners.
