The National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» has developed an intelligent chatbot designed to help schoolchildren and applicants choose their future specialty. The web application combines an adaptive survey and artificial intelligence technologies. NTU «KhPI» specialists have specially selected questions related to the interests of schoolchildren. They gradually change depending on the answers and even the tone of the subscriber. Based on communication, the AI bot not only provides a list of specialties that may be of interest, but also tells about the features of studying at NTU «KhPI.» At the same time, the user is offered to take a preliminary test and find out the general possible areas of professional activity.

Currently, experts from NTU «KhPI» have posted a video review of their developments, which demonstrates the operation of both applications in 3 minutes. The user is greeted by Nina, a schoolgirl who is unsure about her choice of specialty. A robot assistant appears to help the girl and explains the first steps. To start the test, you need to enter your email address, age, and gender. Next, the user takes a short yes/no survey and receives several career options based on their answers. The next important step is to choose a field of study at the university. To do this, Nina turns to the AI bot. It helps her figure out her professional priorities. The bot processes the information provided, and even the writing style, and adapts to each subscriber. Now Nina knows which professions suit her best and has received a complete list of related disciplines at the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute».

The tool supports Ukrainian, and English is planned to be added in the future. Users can not only answer questions, but also independently contact the chatbot with additional requests. It should be noted that it does not replace a full consultation with the admissions committee, but only complements it and simplifies the career guidance stage for applicants from temporarily occupied territories or those who are unable to visit the university in person.
