On October 4 through 6 Prof. Yevgeniy Sokol, rector of National Technical University “Kharkov Polytechnic Institute” and Prof. Eldar Veliev, pro-rector in charge of scientific and pedagogical issues paid an official visit to the city of Istanbul (Turkey). During this business trip the management of NTU “KPI” negotiated and signed many important documents on cooperation with Turkish partners.
On October 5 the local Distance Learning Center of NTU “KPI” was officially opened in Turkey to give training to Turkish students. The representatives of the Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine (MSE), in particular Grigoriy Boiko, a deputy director of the Department for Higher Education of MES and Elena Shapovalova, director of the Ukrainian National Center for the International Education were present at the ceremony.
“The activity of our office in Istanbul is a sort of export of educational services of the Kharkov Polytech that can assist in the invitation of Turkish youth to study at our university and defend their Bachelor’s and /or Master’s degrees distantly” accentuated Prof. Yevgeniy Sokol, rector of NTU “KPI”.
Ankauzet Ltd is going to represent the interests of Polytech in the Turkish Educational Market. It was set up by the charitable educational foundation and it is involved in the providing of educational services using contemporary distance technologies. Ankauzet Ltd is going to assist Turkish students that are willing to study at NTU “KPI”.
It should be noted that Turkish partners eagerly backed up the promotion of NTU “KPI” to the educational service market in Turkey, in particular presentation booklets about Kharkov Polytech were delivered in Turkish (number of printed copies is equal to 10 000 thousands). On October 5, Prof. Yevgeniy Sokol, rector of NTU “KPI” and Dr. Mehmet Celik, rector of Anka University of Technology (Anka Teknoloji Üniversitesi, city of Ankara, Turkey) signed the Protocol of Intentions on cooperation in the field of education and science. It is assumed that the joint activity of both institutions of higher education will mainly be related to the commercialization of scientific developments of NTU KPI in the Turkish market (fiberglass and polymer production, propulsion engineering, etc.).
In addition, Prof. Yevgeniy Sokol and Prof. Eldar Veliev were offered an opportunity to meet with the representatives of Turkish companies that are involved in education and those involved in the production of diesel engines and discussed the prospects of future cooperation.
This business trip to Turkey also resulted in the initiation of cooperation with the Turkish Inovera Company that provides services in the field of computer-aided learning process and electronic circulation of documents.
This October/November we plan to sign the agreements on cooperation between NTU “KPI” and Inovera Company. Assumingly, it will take NTU “KPI” three to four months to implement the Project on the computer-aided learning process and electronic circulation of documents.
Inovera Company has a long-term cooperation with Turkish institutions of higher education. This company managed to successfully implement the project on electronic circulation of documents at eight Turkish Universities and one of them gives training to 200 thousand students. For the Inovera Company the cooperation with KPI will be the first experience of such joint activity with the Ukrainian University. Moreover, we agreed on the training of appropriate specialists from KPI that will provide in the future their services in the computer-aided learning process to other Ukrainian universities” commented Prof. Eldar Veliev, pro-rector in charge of scientific and pedagogical issues at NTU “KPI”.
