NTU «KhPI» is among the Ukrainian leaders The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2024

National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» has been included in the internationally influential ranking The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings (THE) 2024. According to the publication, which was released in June, Kharkiv Polytechnic is represented in eight categories and is recognized as the best among Ukrainian universities in the field of «industry, innovation and infrastructure». The second position NTU «KhPI» was taken in the category «quality of education». In the general list, Kharkiv Polytechnic (ranked 1001-1500) was recognized as the best technical university in eastern Ukraine. This is the best result of NTU «KhPI» in this ranking for all years of participation.  THE included 1963 universities from 121 countries, including forty-two Ukrainian ones.

The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2024 takes into account carefully calibrated indicators and compares universities across four broad fields: research, administration, outreach, and teaching.

There are 17 different areas and an overall ranking available for participation. NTU «KhPI» participated in eight categories and received the best results in the following fields:

As a result of these indicators, the score of NTU «KhPI» in the overall rating increased to 56.4 points (the maximum score is 100). Thus, Kharkiv Polytechnic took the position 1001-1500 in the overall rating and was recognized as the best technical higher education institution in eastern Ukraine. This is the best performance of the university in this ranking for all the years of participation.

In general, only three universities among Ukrainian higher education institutions received the best positions, including the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute».

The top positions in the world ranking are occupied by universities in Australia, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Canada, and the United States.

The Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings is the only global ranking which assesses the global success of world universities in achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). According to the rules, each university had a chance to choose at least four goals from a possible list of 17 categories and provide official information on these issues. The rankings use carefully calibrated indicators to provide a comprehensive and balanced comparison across four broad areas: research, administration, outreach, and teaching.

In 2024, overall rating The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings includes 1963 universities from 121 countries. This is three hundred and seventy more universities and nine more countries compared with  last year. The number of Ukrainian higher education institutions has also increased to forty-two, which were included in the overall ranking.
