At Kharkiv Polytechnic, the winners and prize-winners of the competitions of the All-Ukrainian IT Cup of NTU «KhPI» «Kharkiv Triathlon» were awarded. The features of the IT Cup became a mix of theory and practice in three subjects: programming, mathematics and English. Almost 400 high school students from 22 cities of the country took part in the online tests. Champions and prize-winners of the competition received valuable gifts and money certificates from leading Ukrainian IT companies and online stores. The IT Cup was organized by three departments of Kharkiv Polytechnic: Cybersecurity, Computer Mathematics and Data Analysis, and Foreign Languages. The event was organized for the first time in the history of NTU «KhPI».
Professor Yevgen Sokol, rector of NTU «KhPI», addressed the winners and prize-winners of the IT Cup with a welcoming speech: «It is nice to see so many talented young people today! I am sure that each of you wanted to win this competition, which allowed you to evaluate your capabilities and level of knowledge. You realize that you need to do a lot to improve them. You have a long way to go: successfully graduate from school, enter a university where you will get a prestigious profession, and continue to move towards your goal. And you have only one goal – to become highly qualified IT specialists! Participation in the Kharkiv Triathlon, which we have launched, will allow you to get closer to this goal. The main thing is that in the future you will receive high-quality computer, math, and language training. I express my great respect for your teachers, who are doing a lot to make your dreams come true!» According to the rector, the companies that sponsored the IT Cup have their branches in Ukraine and abroad. They are very interested in highly qualified specialists. This is a great motivation for the participants to start building their successful professional careers right now.
For a week, the IT tournament participants studied, wrote programs and tests in math, and answered questions in English. They all showed perseverance, enthusiasm, and a desire to become better. We would like to note that the teams were divided into two leagues. The first league was for the students of physics and math classes, and the second one was for general education classes.
The organizers of the All-Ukrainian IT Cup primarily aimed to increase the general level of computer and mathematical training of Ukrainian high school students, to provide students with theoretical and practical material with high academic value, to help high school students to find their way in IT specialties, to acquaint them with IT companies and technical education, etc.
So, the absolute winners in the first league became: 1st place – Pes_HIMARS (Kharkiv Academic Lyceum No 45), 2nd place – BSM_Coders (Boyko Author’s School, Kharkiv), 3rd place – NotFromKremenchuk (Scientific Lyceum «Flight», Kremenchuk). In the second league, the strongest team was Cyber-150 (Kharkiv Lyceum No 150), the 2nd place was taken by Feature»(Kharkiv Lyceum No 167), and the 3rd place was taken by Zaporizhzhia CyberTeam ( Khortytsia Academic Lyceum, Zaporizhzhia).
Winners and prize-winners received cups, diplomas, certificates of various denominations from online electronics stores and gift boxes with merchandise from Ukrainian IT companies.

The All-Ukrainian multidisciplinary online tournament «IT Cup of NTU «KhPI» «Kharkiv Triathlon» was held on the 30th of October – the 6th of November 2023. It was attended by 373 high school pupils of general secondary education institutions. The competitions were held in computer science, mathematics and English. The features of the IT Cup became a mix of theory and practice in three subjects; teaching of educational material that is higher than the school level; equal opportunities for participants with different levels of training through the creation of two leagues: teams from physics and mathematics classes and classes of other profiles; gamification and engagement from the first minute: each lecture is accompanied by tests, during which participants gain competitive points, information and mentoring support from teachers; cups and prizes for winners, gifts for participants.
