NTU «KhPI» hosted the anniversary X International Scientific and Practical Conference «Development of modern Ukrainian society in the sociological perspective». In the scientific forum, which was held online, more than seventy scientists, graduate students and students of leading higher education institutions of Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland took part. They discussed topical issues of society development and solving complex challenges facing Ukraine in the modern world. The conference was organized by the department of sociology and public administration of NTU «KhPI». The reports of the forum participants were made in Ukrainian and English.
The anniversary X International Scientific and Practical Conference «The development of modern Ukrainian society in the sociological perspective» was held at the NTU «KhPI». Scientists, postgraduate students and students of leading higher education institutions of Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland took part in it online. The scientific forum was organized by the department of sociology and public administration of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Social and Humanitarian Technologies of the NTU «KhPI» with the support of the director of the Institute, professor Andrii Kipenskyi. The purpose of the scientific forum has become the continuation of scientific discourse on topical issues of development of social sciences and humanities, the impact of war on the social structure and value transformations of society, changes in models of economic and political behavior in the conditions of martial law, the role of public organizations in the formation of society and the impact of information technology on socio-cultural processes, etc.
The participants of the conference were greeted by the head of the department of sociology and public administration of Kharkiv Polytechnic, Doctor of public administration Professor Volodymyr Moroz, Head of the department of public administration and political sciences, Doctor of public administration Professor Yaroslav Dvorak and PhD in Economics, associate professor Galina Mishenina (Klaipeda University, Lithuania). We should note that Lithuanian partners actively support the NTU «KhPI» and plan to participate in the competition for joint Ukrainian-Lithuanian research projects in 2004-2025. They also act as academic experts from NTU «KhPI» in the global survey of the QS rating agency.
Within the framework of the forum, specialists from various fields discussed actual issues of society development and solving complex challenges facing Ukraine in the modern world. The reports of the scientists were devoted to modern social problems in the sociological dimension; problems of youth, students and education in modern Ukrainian society; digital communications in the development of the individual and society; mechanisms of public administration of socio-economic and socio-political development. Representatives of the Department of Sociology and Public Administration of the NTU «KhPI» presented their achievements in educational, scientific and international activities. It is worth reminding that recently the joint work of its teachers and employees of the Department of Quality Assurance of Educational Activities of Kharkiv Polytechnic was recognized at the International Exhibition «Innovation in Modern Education», and NTU «KhPI» received the Honorary title «Leader of Innovations in Education».
During the discussions, the conference participants emphasized the need to deepen of sociological research in the fields of economics, education, communications, etc., to more actively study the impact of globalization on Ukrainian society and develop strategies for adapting to new realities. Particular attention was paid to the preservation of cultural identity and the development of national identity in the conditions of global transformations.
Following the results of the conference, a decision was made to further cooperate between its participants to implement specific projects and research. This includes organizing seminars for public officials in the areas of «sociology», «pedagogy and public administration»; creating a public organization, the «Academy of Social Transformations and Innovative Management»; resuming the work of the sociological laboratory; and engaging international partners to work together on sharing experiences and implementing joint projects, etc.
