Scientists of NTU «KhPI» join the development of cluster policy in Ukraine

Scientists of NTU «KhPI»: professor of the management department Taras Danko, director of the startup center «SPARK» Natalia Shmatko, and head of the management department Olena Prokhorenko took part in the online conference «Best practices of cooperation between science and business». The event, which was organized by the Ukrainian Cluster Alliance, brought together members of innovative cluster associations and scientists from all over the country.  Kharkiv Polytechnics presented ideas and projects of the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» that will contribute to the development of the national cluster movement and the innovative economy of Ukraine.

In his speech at the conference  «Best practices of cooperation between science and business», Taras Danko, professor of the management department  at the Educational and Scientific  Institute of Economics, Management and International Business of NTU  «KhPI», Head of the Board of the Ukrainian Association for the Development of Management and Business Education, presented a mechanism for attracting the expertise of management researchers to the development of cluster policies in Ukraine. He emphasized the importance of cooperation between science and business for achieving sustainable economic development.

For her part, Natalia Shmatko, professor of the management department at NTU «KhPI» and director of the startup center «SPARK», shared best practices and plans for the future development of the startup movement at the university. She emphasized that the startup center «SPARK» is ready to interact and promote cluster development in Ukraine.

At the conference, Olena Prokhorenko, head of the management department of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Economics, Management and International Business of NTU «KhPI», announced the launch of the pilot project «Innovation Campus» focused on educational programs in the specialty of MANAGEMENT. She also noted the possibilities of using project-based learning to solve practical problems in the field of cluster development.

The participation scientists of  NTU «KhPI» in the conference emphasized their important role in shaping cluster policy and practices in Ukraine, demonstrating a high level of interaction between science, education, and business to achieve common goals in the development of Ukraine’s innovative economy.

A cluster is a sectoral, territorial and voluntary association of business structures that work closely with scientific (educational) institutions, public organizations and local authorities to improve the competitiveness of their products and promotion of economic development in the region.

The Ukrainian Cluster Alliance (UCA) is an association of Ukrainian organizations for the development of the cluster movement and economic growth. It plays a key role in uniting cluster organizations in Ukraine, becoming an important driver of economic growth at the level of small and medium-sized enterprises.
