Ukrainian and German scientists discussed Ukraine’s European future

Olena Sergienko, a scientist of NTU «KhPI», took part in the forum «Ukraine and Europe. Prospects of joining the EU». The event was dedicated to the second anniversary of the russian invasion into Ukraine. It was initiated by the Wilhelmina University of Westphalia (Munster, Germany). The forum’s panel discussion focused on important issues of establishing a Ukrainian research center for supporting Ukrainian scientists and further joint cooperation in the research field. Nathanael Liminski, Minister of federal and European affairs and Head of the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia, welcomed the participants of the event. 

Olena Sergienko, professor of the department of entrepreneurship, trade and logistics at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Economics, Management and International Business of NTU «KhPI», took part in the forum «Ukraine and Europe. Prospects of joining the EU». The event was held at the Wilhelmina University of Westphalia (WWU) and was dedicated to the second anniversary of russia’s large-scale war against Ukraine. The purpose of the forum was the creation of a research center for supporting Ukrainian scientists. Scientists from Ukraine and Germany discussed further joint cooperation in the research field.

The participants of the event were greeted by Nathanael Liminski, Minister of federal and European affairs, international relations and media, Head of the state chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia; Ricarda Vulpius, representative of USIM (Ukrainian Studies in Münster), professor of Eastern European and Central and Eastern European history, prof. Dr. Ricarda Vulpius; Prof. Dr. Michael Quante, vice-rector for international affairs, transfer and sustainable development at the University of Münster.

The panel discussion was attended by Prof. Dr. Niels Petersen, public law, international and European law; Prof. Dr. Irina Wutsdorff, slavic studies; Prof. Dr. Dariia Opryshko, international and European media law, Institute of information, telecommunications and media law.

We would like to note that Ukrainian and German scientists not only discussed the most pressing issues of Ukraine’s European integration, but also enjoyed Ukrainian music. The forum participants believe that the event opened up new opportunities for Ukraine’s integration into the EU within the framework of the scientific community. On behalf of Ukrainian scientists, professor of NTU «KhPI» Olena Sergienko expressed gratitude to German professor Nathanael Liminski for supporting Ukraine by helping to develop close relations between German and Ukrainian scientists.
