Kharkiv Polytechnic hosted the annual International Postgraduate Student’s Conference «Innovative model of research projects aimed at the integration of Ukraine into the European scientific space». The forum’s participants discussed the topical issues in the field of economics, artificial intelligence, sociology, energy, etc. Special attention was paid to the problems of improving the state and development of Ukraine in the current environment. The speakers at the conference were scientists from Ukraine and the UK. The event, which was held online on the Teams platform, brought together more than 120 postgraduate students.
NTU «KhPI» held the annual International Postgraduate Student’s Conference «Innovative model of research projects aimed at integration of Ukraine into the European scientific space». The conference was organized by the department of cross-cultural communication and foreign languages of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Education of NTU «KhPI». Despite the hostile shelling of many regions of Ukraine, the lack of Internet and electricity, most of the participants were able to join the conference. The speeches of the postgraduate students were bright and interesting, highlighting topical issues of improving the state and development of various industries in Ukraine in modern conditions.
The forum participants were greeted by the head of the department, doctor of psychology, professor Tetyana Sergeyeva. A member of the conference’s organizing committee and professor at Buckinghamshire New University (UK), Dorin Festeu, made a presentation. He spoke about modern education and the latest technologies in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, the use of English in the educational process and the scientific life of of non-native English-speaking postgraduate students
We would like to note that the six best reports of the conference participants will be published free of charge in the journal «Energy saving. Energy. Energy Audit». This was announced during his speech by the honored guest of the forum – the editor of this scientific professional publication, President of the All-Ukrainian Association «Scientists for innovative development of Ukrain», professor of the department of business economics and international economic relations of NTU «KhPI» Serhii Mekhovych.
The conference «Innovative model of research projects aimed at the integration of Ukraine into the European scientific space» was attended by more than 120 postgraduate students taking the course «Foreign Language for Communication in the Scientific and Pedagogical Environment» at the department of cross-cultural communication and foreign languages at NTU «KhPI». The topics of their reports were devoted to various fields of knowledge in economics, artificial intelligence, sociology, energy, etc.
According to the organizers of the forum, the event demonstrated the strong scientific potential of postgraduate students of NTU «KhPI», and the department of cross-cultural communication and foreign languages will continue to help them master the English language. Future scientists of Kharkiv Polytechnic have the opportunity to receive experience in participating in an international conference, to make a report and presentation in English according to international standards, to publish their scientific essays and articles in the forum proceedings and in a professional journal even in the first year of study. Thus, learning a foreign language is the development of language competence and critical thinking, scientific generalization and self-presentation.

The department of cross-cultural communication and foreign languages was opened at NTU «KhPI» in 2004. Here future economists, managers, IT specialists, etc. are educated.
