NTU «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» together with the Interdisciplinary institute of postgraduate education of Kharkiv Polytechnic became participants of the 40th international specialized exhibition «Education and Career – 2024». The event was held online. Within the framework of the exhibition, a competition was held for Ukrainian higher education institutions, where NTU «KhPI» won in several nominations, received the honorary title of «Leader of Higher Education» and the Grand Prix in the nomination «Innovative activities on the implementation of organizational and pedagogical processes in educational institutions to improve the quality of education and educational activities». The exhibition was attended by educational institutions from Ukraine, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Cyprus, and Bulgaria.
Within the framework of the exhibition «Education and Career – 2024», a competition was held for Ukrainian higher education institutions in 11 thematic nominations. Evaluating the achievements of Kharkiv Polytechnic, the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» was recognized as the winner of the competition and received the honorary title of «Leader of Higher Education» and the Grand Prix in the nomination «Innovative activities on the implementation of organizational and pedagogical processes in educational institutions to improve the quality of education and educational activities».
Receiving of the Grand Prix in the nomination «Innovative activities on the implementation of organizational and pedagogical processes in educational institutions to improve the quality of education and educational activities» is not only an honorable recognition of achievements, but also a confirmation that innovation in education is becoming a priority. Today, in a constantly changing world, the quality of education determines the country’s competitiveness and level of development. This issue becomes especially important as educational institutions face the need to adapt to new requirements, technologies and teaching methods. Much effort has already been focused on finding and implementing innovative approaches that will help improve the quality of education. Selective nature of education, change of learning paradigms and use of modern technologies are just some of the aspects that we are focusing on.
The pandemic and quarantine, and later military aggression, have made changes to the work of NTU «KhPI». To solve these challenges and to improve the quality of education and educational activities, an innovative work strategy was developed in 2017, based on STEM approaches and Kahoot quizzes in an online format. In the same year, the implementation of a strategy based on the experience of the United States and EU countries in using STEM approaches as effective educational tools to solve these problems began. Later, this strategy proved to be effective.
The Ministry of Education and Science has already recognized this as a priority area, directing significant resources for supporting innovation in education. Its support and partnership can significantly strengthen our efforts and open up new opportunities for the development of innovative approaches to education. In addition, the National Agency for higher education Quality Assurance (NAQA) and the State service for education and adaptation of persons with disabilities (SSAPD) play a key role in providing of education quality and access to education for all groups of people. Their efforts and support are also important for the successful implementation of innovative approaches to the learning process and improving the quality of education.
Receiving the Grand Prix in this nomination will contribute to the joint efforts of all interested parties in achieving the common goal of improving education in Ukraine and will become an important step in supporting and recognizing our achievements in this area. It will emphasize our desire to continuously improve educational processes and our commitment to quality education and training of the younger generation.
