Lecturers from NTU «KhPI» Roman Zaitsev, Kseniia Minakova, and Mykhailo Kirichenko helped students of the school of builders to master the profession of solar panel installer. In the Optics and Photonics Laboratory of Kharkiv Polytechnic, they conducted intensive practical classes within the framework of the express course «Fundamentals of Energy and Renewable Energy Sources». This is a project supported by Switzerland that promotes the development of renewable energy in Ukraine.
For twelve participants of the practical classes «Fundamentals of Energy and Renewable Energy Sources» («Solar Panel Installer»), the teachers of the Department of Micro- and Nanoelectronics of NTU «KhPI»: Head of the Department, Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences Roman Zaitsev; Professor, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Kseniia Minakova and Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences Mykhailo Kirichenko conducted classes in the field of modern energy. The students were told about the principles of solar panels and equipment and methods of selection, installation and professional maintenance of devices.
The course focused on practical skills in working with solar energy equipment. Classes were held at the Optics and Photonics Laboratory of NTU «KhPI». Participants learned from their own experience how to install, configure and professionally maintain solar panels and related equipment. The tutors shared their expert knowledge of the principles of solar panels, the selection of components and the integration of equipment into energy systems, and gave important practical advice.
This course was implemented by the ProfBudTech Express School of Builders in cooperation with HELVETAS and supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) as part of the Economic Resilience Program of Ukraine (ERP). According to the scientists of Kharkiv Polytechnic, they enthusiastically joined an important initiative aimed at actively developing the use of solar energy in Ukraine.
Note:
The Economic Resilience Program for Ukraine (ERP) was established by Mercy Corps with support from Switzerland. The goal is to help the affected population and small and medium-sized businesses restore business activity and overcome the consequences of the war.
The program is being implemented in Dnipropetrovska, Donetska and Zaporizka oblasts to support microbusiness initiatives and in Kyiv city and Kyiv, Dnipropetrovska and Kharkivska oblasts to support small and medium-sized businesses affected by the war.
The Department of Micro- and Nanoelectronics of NTU «KhPI» started its work in 1988. It combines two educational and scientific schools:
– development of the physical foundations of modern materials science in relation to film layers and layered heterosystems based on semiconductor compositions that provide high reliability, durability and efficiency of modern microelectronics and solar energy products;
– development of equipment for near-space radiophysical research, real-time digital signal processing systems and ionospheric models based on data obtained by incoherent scattering.
