On June 18, 2026, Vice Rector Gennadiy Khrypunov and Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Education Dmytro Horovyi held a video conference with Mr. Diego Rivadeneira, Director of the Office of International Cooperation at the University of Cuenca (Ecuador).
The University of Cuenca (Universidad de Cuenca / UCUENCA) is a prestigious public university in Ecuador, founded in 1867. It is located in the historic and picturesque city of Cuenca and consistently ranks among the top five higher education institutions in the country. The university has approximately 15,000 students, including about 800 international students. The university comprises 12 faculties covering a wide range of disciplines: agricultural sciences, architecture and design, arts, economics and management, philosophy, literature and education, hospitality and tourism, engineering and technical sciences, law, political and social sciences, and medical sciences.
During the discussion, the parties outlined areas for further cooperation—including the signing of a memorandum of cooperation, the possibility of joint dual-degree programs, student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, and more.
As part of the discussed initiatives, an expanded meeting is planned, to which interested parties from both universities will be invited.
