NTU «KhPI» held a teleconference «International pharmaceutical education in the eyes of students» with the SanzharAsfendiyarov Kazakh national medical University (KazNMU). Participants of the event – teachers and students of both universities – discussed the features of pharmaceutical education in Ukraine and Kazakhstan, joint educational programmes and prospects for creating international projects in the field of pharmacy. The teleconference brought together forty current and future specialists.
The National Technical University «KhPI» was represented in the teleconference «International pharmaceutical education in the eyes of student» by the heads and teachers of the profile departments – general pharmacy, organic synthesis and pharmaceutical technologies, health care organisation and students of the specialty «Pharmacy, industrial pharmacy» (226). On behalf of the SanzharAsfendiyarov Kazakh national medical University, the event was attended by the deputy dean of the school of pharmacy, teachers of the department of pharmaceutical technologies and students.
The teleconference was held in a friendly and warm atmosphere, where a variety of questions were asked and competent answers were given. Both universities made presentations of their higher education institutions, focusing on educational programmes in the field of pharmacy. Thus, Yulia Yudina, associate professor of the department of general pharmacy at the Educational and Scientific Medical Institute of NTU «KhPI» spoke about medical and pharmaceutical projects and achievements of Kharkiv Polytechnic. In particular, she noted a number of areas of scientific development in this field: nanotechnology, biotechnology research, implementation of engineering and information technologies, cryotechnology, drug development, research of plant materials, radiation technologies, etc.
For their part, students of the KazNMU School of Pharmacy made interesting presentations on their research projects, which had much in common with the projects of students of the NTU «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute». After the presentations, the parties discussed promising areas of cooperation between the universities in such activities as academic mobility, work under the visiting professors programme, joint training programs, etc. The participants agreed to hold such meetings on a regular basis.
Summing up the results of the Ukrainian-Kazakh teleconference «International pharmaceutical education through the eyes of students”, the head of the department of general pharmacy of NTU «KhPI» Igor Grubnyk emphasised that the scientists of Kharkiv Polytechnic have warm and friendly relations with KazNMU.
«Almost two years have passed since our first meeting. Back then, we discussed joint plans and projects. Many important decisions were made to develop cooperation between our universities. Unfortunately, the war prevented us from doing so. Despite all the horrors of the war, we survived and restarted our work. And our plans are to restore and strengthen our international relations and find opportunities for fruitful cooperation even in the difficult conditions our country is facing. Therefore, today’s teleconference is the first step in this direction,» said Igor Grubnik.
The teleconference «International pharmaceutical education in the eyes of students»between NTU «KhPI» and KazNMU took place on 20 November 2013.

In October 2021, specialists of the department of general pharmacy of NTU «KhPI» visited KazNMU, where they gave a series of lectures for Kazakh students on the discipline «Industrial technology of drugs» on the topic: «Innovative technologies of pharmaceuticals, research in the field of drug form technology». At the same time, a joint cooperation agreement was signed. After that, in December 2021, a delegation from the SanzharAsfendiyarov Kazakh national medical University visited NTU «KhPI» to discuss scientific, technical and educational cooperation in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.
