Scientists of NTU «KhPI» presented the project at the largest student startup competition in the world

A team of postgraduate students and professors of the electric power transmission department of NTU «KhPI» took part in the MIT CEP 2024 startup competition from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Under the leadership of Dmytro Danylchenko, PhD, the team is developing and promoting an optimization device for solar power plants with a unique algorithm. The startup, which has already been presented on many platforms and has certain achievements in this field, was worthily presented at the largest student startup competition in the world in the field of climate and energy. The team of NTU «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» «Balanced» did not manage to win the competition, but they gained invaluable experience and new knowledge for further development.

The owner of the unique idea of a device for solar power plants and its algorithm became a postgraduate student of the of electric power transmission department of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Energy, Electronics and Electromechanics of Kharkiv Polytechnic Andrii Potryvai. In January, the startup was well appreciated by the jury, which helped it get to the quarterfinals of the competition. In February, the scientist of NTU «KhPI» presented his startup online at the next stage of MIT CEP 2024. Currently, the «Balanced» team has finished competing for the victory in this competition, but they are eager to continue developing and competing on other platforms.

We should note that in the spring of 2023, the «Balanced» team of NTU «KhPI» won the Young Innovation Hackaton, thanks to which they were invited to Germany to undergo training in startup development and presentation. There, the scientists had the opportunity to present their project to the employees of the Saxony-Anhalt Investment Fund.  One of the jury members, senior consultant and project manager for investments Anne-Jeanine Freund, expressed interest in the startup and suggested moving on to more detailed negotiations in March 2024. While the team is waiting for this important date, its members continue to look for those who are ready to follow this path with them.
