In Kharkiv Polytechnic events dedicated to the Day of Science of Ukraine were held. One of the main event was a lecture by the Nobel Prize Laureate, Japanese physicist Takaaki Kajita and the traditional International Scientific and Practical Conference «MicroCAD», which brought together more than 3000 scientists from 30 countries. Various scientific seminars, round tables, webinars and lectures were also held. Almost 30 scientists of NTU «KhPI» received awards from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kharkiv City Council, Kharkiv Mayor, the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, and the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. Oleksiy Larin, a researcher of NTU «KhPI», was elected a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In total, more than 5000 students, postgraduates, and teachers from higher education institutions of Ukraine, Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, the USA, Malaysia, etc. took part in the festive events.
More than 5000 students, postgraduates, teachers and researchers from higher education institutions of Ukraine and the world joined the traditional Days of Science at the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute». We are talking about representatives of the leading universities of our country and the world: Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, the USA, Malaysia, etc. In total, about ten official events were held, which was the best result at NTU «KhPI» in recent years
Lecture by Laureate of the Nobel Prize Takaaki Kajita
The distinguished Japanese physicist and cosmic neutrino researcher Takaaki Kajita spoke about exploring the Universe with the help of neutrinos and gravitational waves. The lecture, held online, brought together nearly 300 scientists from Ukraine and Europe. Professor Kajita is one of 194 Nobel Prize Laureates who in 2022 expressed their support for the Ukrainian people and a free, independent Ukraine after the start of russia’s war against our country.
International conference «MicroCAD-2024»
The XXXII International Scientific and Practical Conference «Information Technologies: Science, Engineering, Technology, Education, Health (MicroCAD-2024)» was attended by nearly 3.500 scientists, teachers, students, postgraduate students, and specialists from Ukraine, Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, the United States, and others. Representatives of 25 countries discussed the most topical issues in the fields of energy and electronics, medical and economic sciences, national security, etc. The forum’s proceedings included more than 1600 reports from the conference participants, which is a record for the entire history of MicroCAD.
Seminars, round tables, webinars, lectures
During these events, the issues of intensification of scientific work in Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute and in Ukraine were discussed. Leading scientists of Kharkiv Polytechnic shared with young scientists successful cases of conducting relevant research. Employees of the Research Department of NTU Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute presented opportunities for obtaining international grant support, improving the publication activity of employees and students of NTU «KhPI».
Thus, at one of the webinars, the specialists shared their experience of working in the editorial boards of scientific publications of NTU «KhPI» and aspects of conference design.
The round table «Student research groups: from idea to innovation» was organized by the teachers of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Transport of NTU «KhPI». The heads of the existing groups made thorough reports on the areas of scientific, innovative, social and even volunteer activities with the active involvement of students.
Teachers of the marketing department of NTU «KhPI» held an online seminar «Problems and prospects of digital marketing tools using During the war in Ukraine», and employees of the management department of NTU «KhPI» took part in the event «Non-Tech in IT: All about Non-Technical Specialties in IT», where they presented opportunities for self-realization of managers in this field.
At the webinar «Grant Programs of International Scientific and Technical Cooperation», leading experts and participants of grant programs familiarized the audience with the main emphases of applying and shared their successful experience.
The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Business of NTU «KhPI» in cooperation with Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (Georgia) held an online lecture « Development of international tourism of Georgia and future prospectives».
At the conference «The best examples of the organization of scientific work», leading academic staff presented the results of their activities. Thus, the head of the department of biotechnology, biophysics and analytical chemistry of the NTU «KhPI», Professor Olha Blyzniuk, spoke about the work of scientific student groups at the department, the head of the department of physical chemistry of the NTU«KhPI», Professor Mykola Sakhnenko, shared his experience of working with grant projects under the Partnership for Peace and Security program and with the project from the National Research Foundation of Ukraine «Development of composite materials for road construction based on multi-ton waste». Professor Nina Pidbutska, head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Management of Social Systems of Academician I. A. Zyazyun at NTU «KhPI», spoke about the possibilities of using the chatbot Elomia to reduce the tendency to suffer from anxiety and depression.
Awards and honors of Kharkiv Polytechnics
Scientist of the NTU «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» was elected a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine
Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Computer Modeling, Applied Physics and Mathematics, professor of the department of mathematical modeling and intelligent computing in engineering of NTU «KhPI» Oleksiy Larin was elected a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the section of mechanics
Doctor of technical sciences, professor Oleksiy Larin is a graduate of Kharkiv Polytechnic, he is a well-known expert in the field of computer and mathematical modeling of random processes, reliability of mechanical systems, statistical processing and data analysis, modern numerical methods. His research interests are related to the study of oscillations of turbomachinery impeller blades and forecasting the service life of engineering structures.
The student of Kharkiv Polytechnic received a medal from the President of Ukraine
Artem Kovalev, a master student of the Department of Automated Electromechanical Systems of NTU «KhPI», was awarded the medal «For Labor and Bravery». He received the award from the President of Ukraine for «a significant personal contribution to the development of national science, strengthening the scientific and technical potential of Ukraine under martial law, conscientious work and high professionalism». Artem Kovalev is one of the authors of two scientific developments of Kharkiv Polytechnic scientists aimed at improving the functionality of military equipment and increasing the energy security of Ukraine.

received awards from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kharkiv City Council, Kharkiv Mayor, National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, and the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. Six scientists received awards from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
