According to the results of one of the most prestigious world university rankings QS World University Rankings 2025, National Technical University «KhPI» continues to occupy a leading position among Ukrainian universities, taking the 4th place. According to the QS World University Rankings 2025, National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» has once again confirmed its status as one of the best universities in Ukraine and ranked fourth among domestic universities (ranking in the world 1001-1200). This year, the university is in the top 66% of the world’s universities ranked in the ranking. According to the two best indicators, NTU «KhPI» took the third place in Ukraine and 280th and 538th place in the world, respectively. According to two more indicators, the university won places in the world 601+, and according to the other five – 701+.

Experts note that the number of universities analyzed by the ranking is constantly growing. Thus, this year, 5663 universities from 106 countries were considered which is almost twice as many as in the previous year, when the number of universities was 2963. However, the number of universities ranked in this year’s ranking remained almost unchanged – 1503 universities. This means that competition between universities for position in the ranking has increased significantly, which has led to a deterioration in the positions of all Ukrainian universities included in the ranking compared to last year.

The top 5 Ukrainian universities in the QS World University Rankings 2025, in addition to the National Technical University «KhPI», are: Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute», Lviv Polytechnic National University.
