Armwrestlers from Kharkiv Polytechnic won two silver and one bronze medal at the World Armwrestling and Para-Armwrestling Championships. Competing as part of the national team of Ukraine, Yuriy Bida took second place in the weight category over 90 kg, and Anatolii Potemkin showed the second and third results among athletes under 70 kg. The tournament took place in Chisinau (Moldova) and brought together more than 1.500 armwrestles from 61 countries.
Anatolii Potemkin, a second-year student of the department of physical education of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Social and Humanitarian Technologies of NTU «KhPI», and Yuriy Bida, a master’s student of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Transport of NTU «KhPI», became winners of the World Armwrestling Championship. As a part of the national team of Ukraine, the athletes of Kharkiv Polytechnic won two silver and bronze medals. Anatolii competed in the para-armwrestling competition in the weight category under 70 kg and won «silver» and «bronze» medals, and Yurii fought for victory among young people under 23 (U23) in the weight category over 90 kg and won a silver medal.
The newly-minted World Championship winners are coached by Volodymyr Petrenko, Honoured Coach of Ukraine, associate professor of the department of physical education of the NTU «KhPI».

The World Armwrestling and Para-Armwrestling Championships took place on 16-23 August 2024 in Chisinau (Moldova). The tournament brought together over 1500 sportsmen from 61 countries of the world. At these competitions, the Ukrainian team won 5 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze medals.
