Scientists of NTU «KhPI» presented their startup at the exhibition in Germany

Olena Sergienko, professor of the department of entrepreneurship, trade and logistics of the NTU «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute», took part in the world’s largest international medical exhibition «MEDICA 2023» (Dusseldorf, Germany). In the national pavilion of Ukraine, the scientist of Kharkiv Polytechnic presented the startup project «Health Helper», which she developed together with postgraduate student Pavlo Samus and associate professor Igor Sosnov. This is an innovative device that provides doctors with an easy and affordable way to diagnose cardiovascular diseases by providing accurate medical information. More than four thousand exhibiting companies from more than 60 countries took part in the exhibition. Ukraine was represented by 7 manufacturers of medical products and technologies.

Olena Sergienko, professor of the department of entrepreneurship, trade and logistics of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Economics, Management and International Business of NTU  «KhPI», took part in the international medical exhibition «MEDICA 2023» (Dusseldorf, Germany). The scientist presented the startup «Health Helper», which she developed together with her colleagues at the department – postgraduate student Pavlo Samus and associate professor Igor Sosnov. The project is an innovative device that provides doctors with an easy and affordable way to diagnose cardiovascular diseases by providing accurate medical information.

This year, the startup’s authors won a $5,000 grant from an international foundation for further development, and the team also won a bronze medal based on the results of the final pitch of the first Hardware Engineering Hackathon in Ukraine.

According to professor Olena Sergienko, the «MEDICA 2023» exhibition opened up new opportunities for introducing foreign medical technology specialists with the developments of Kharkiv Polytechnic and establishing contacts with partners and investors in Europe. Within the framework of the event, an agreement was reached about cooperation, support, mentoring, popularization of the project in Europe and its development in the international market

So, representatives of the company «Evolution medtec» offered the authors of the startup «Health Helper» to provide complex product development, because they already have experience in developing such a medical device. The project of the NTU «KhPI» scientists was also of interest to the specialists of the «Innovation World Cup» company, who invited the scientists of Kharkiv Polytechnic to participate in joint international programs and conferences. Currently, the NTU «KhPI» startup team is preparing an application for participation in one of these projects. Scientists of NTU «KhPI» also agreed with the company «CEO LifeTech Studio» to popularize their development in the European space, and also discussed further cooperation with the company «IT HealthCare Solutions».

«MEDICA 2023» is the largest international medical exhibition that has attracted more than 80,000 visitors during its 40 years of operation. It took place on 13-16  November, 2023. Every year, more than 4500 exponents from more than 60 countries take part in the event. The exhibition brings together leading manufacturers of medical products, technologies and services from around the world. It is held in parallel with the exhibition of medical technology suppliers «COMPAMED».

The project presents an innovative device that provides doctors with an easy and affordable way to diagnose cardiovascular diseases by providing accurate medical information. This technology for measuring blood flow and blood pressure allows you to monitor your health and calculate indicators for early diagnosis of the disease. The device is affordable and compact, and performs a quick examination. The results obtained are sufficient for early diagnosis of blood pressure, vascular health, heart health, detection of defects and blood clots. The device can be used both in medical institutions and at home.
